Update to stamp ordering process
Postal Customers:
In our continuous efforts to provide quality service to our customers while undergoing organizational changes, we inform you that the Postal Service is in the process of consolidating its Stamp Distribution Offices (SDO) nationwide into six centralized sites. The Philadelphia Metropolitan District which encompasses zip codes 190, 191, 189, 193 & 194 will now have stamp fulfillments from the new Dulles , VA office effective January 7 for the Southeastern post offices and February 11, 2010 for the Philadelphia post offices.
Stamps that are not available at your local Post Office will be submitted and shipped from this location. This process should not impact post offices receiving their monthly stamp order, but it may take longer if an office has to place a special order. Special orders could take a week to be processed and delivered to your local post offices from Dulles. Customers should continue to place stamp orders through their normal channels. The local Post Office will contact customers when orders are ready for pick-up. Should a need exist to cancel a stamp order, we ask that you kindly provide immediate notification to your local post office.
We apologize if this causes any inconvenience. Should you have questions, please contact your BSN rep.
